WWOX and ovarian cancer: WWOX expression showed very significant variation in expression levels across the molecular subtypes reported in the Tothill study.31 The poor outcome ovarian cancer subtype ‘1’ had lower WWOX expression across three probesets (Figure 8a, P=0.0035; left, P<1x10−4; middle and P=0.00069; right), implying that the loss of WWOX expression has a role in development of aggressive characteristics of this subtype of ovarian cancer.
