PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homolog) is the second most commonly mutated tumor suppressor gene in human cancer (Cantley and Neel, 1999) and has a central role in multicellular morphogenesis (Martin-Belmonte et al., 2007; Jagan et al., 2013a; Deevi et al., 2016). The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is cancer.
