NFKB1 and alkaline phosphatase measurement: It has been shown that aqueous extract of T. terrestris can induce cell growth arrest and apoptosis by down-regulating NF-κB signaling (Kim et al., 2011 ▶); So, inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathways in the pancreatic tissue could be one of the mechanisms by which this extract alleviated inflammation in AP.
