Not many cancer therapeutic vaccines have been developed using soluble growth factors as target antigens, but a result that is in line with our findings is that reported by Rodríguez et al. in a phase III study of CIMAvax-EGF, a therapeutic vaccine for the treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer, where EGF is the antigen. The gene discussed is EGF; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
