Delayed healing may cause long-term tinnitus, conductive hearing loss, chronic TMP problems, and severe diminishment of quality of life.[1–3] In recent years, some growth factors (e.g., EGF, FGF-2, and HA) have been used to aid TMP healing.[4–21] Of the many growth factors currently known, the most important in terms of eardrum healing are EGF and FGF-2. This evidence concerns the gene EGF and Tinnitus.
