Our data showed that in the acute phase of infection (48 h) there was an elevated frequency of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells expressing intracellular pro-IL-1β, IFN-γ, and IL-4 in the lungs of WT and deficient (Nlrp3−/−, Casp1/11−/−, and ASC−/−) mice, but no significant differences were observed between the mouse strains. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and infection.
