CASP1 and infection: In contrast to the prevalent Th1/Th17 immunity induced by NLRP3 inflammasome activation in WT mice, Nlrp3−/−, Casp1/11−/−, and Asc−/− mice showed increase expansion and migration of Treg cells to the site of infection that possibly have contributed to the deficient control of fungal loads and non-protective inflammatory reactions.
