Increasing values of SI and biomarker (both categorized in tertiles) demonstrated an additive effect on the 10-year risk for fatal MI or stroke according to the German version of the ESC-SCORE (Fig. 2; illustrated for CRP and fibrinogen), as well as on the 10-year risk for incident CVD according to the updated Framingham Risk Score (FRS) (Supplemental Fig. 2, again illustrated for CRP and fibrinogen).
