In the present study, genetic polymorphisms in CDKN2A/B, HHEX, TCF7L2, KCNJ11, CDKAL1, JAZF1, CDC123/CAMK1D, BCL11A, NOTCH2, THADA, LEPR, ADAM30, VEGFA, ADRB2, ADRB3, PPARG, PPARGC1A, GCKR, and MADD genes were not significantly associated with T2DM risk, MS, obesity, or with quantitative metabolic traits (TGs, cholesterol, LDL, HDL), blood pressure, or BMI. The gene discussed is NOTCH2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
