Fzd6 might also mediate cellular signals through the activation of the c-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK), since Fzd6high neuroblastoma stem cells contain higher levels of phosphorylated JNK compared to the Fzd6 negative counterparts.23 JNK is required for convergent extension movements that characterize gastrulation in frogs, controlled by Wnt/PCP signalling, suggesting that Fzd6 could potentially regulate PCP and JNK activation.24 This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and neuroblastoma.
