IgG3, an independent predictor of reduced HIV-1 infection and putatively of the level of vaccine efficacy in the RV144 trial [14], nearly disappeared at 6 months post-vaccination in RV144, while in HVTN 094, approximately one- half of the participants in each full-dose arm still had IgG3 responses by 6 months post-vaccination, and response rates and magnitudes dropped only slightly from 6- to 12-months post-vaccination.
