NPPB and vascular disorder: This study reports several important findings: first, that BNP levels can be assessed in very young TS children; second, that BNP levels are increased in young TS individuals who do not have clinical hypertension, suggesting the idea that elevated BNP levels in young TS patients may signify an inherent vasculopathy; third, that BNP levels were not influenced by BMI nor puberty, making it a potentially useful tool in childhood, a period during which BMI is fluctuating and pubertal induction is ongoing.
