Indeed, while mice subjected to TAC surgery developed some aspects of heart failure as evidenced by significantly reduced cardiac fractional shortening (Fig. 4e, full data in Tables S3, S4), increased heart weight (Fig. 4f) and pulmonary edema (Fig. 4g), these mice showed relatively little remodeling of t-tubule structure (Fig. 4a) perhaps due to the continued presence of Jph2. This evidence concerns the gene JPH2 and heart failure.
