During the last decade a novel type of food allergy has been identified where patients report gastrointestinal symptoms, urticaria, angioedema, or anaphylaxis, not in the short time frame of typical IgE mediated allergy, but 3 to 6 hours after ingestion of mammalian meat such as beef, lamb or pork1–7.
