Furthermore, our data present the possibility that Prdm1 is involved in the regulation of Aire-independent TSA expression within the thymus, thus adding another dimension to the association of Prdm1 mutations with autoimmune disorders such as SLE (33), rheumatoid arthritis (87), and Crohn’s disease (88). This evidence concerns the gene PRDM1 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
