SFN-induced tumor cell growth suppression in pancreatic cancer was reported to be linked with Sonic hedgehog signaling, interaction with Hsp90, oxidative stress, induction of macroautophagy and inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDAC), enzymes that are expressed aberrantly in pancreatic cancer cells [13–16]. The gene discussed is SFN; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
