When we analysed the CD44 variant expression in normal tumour-paired tissues from patients with gastric cancer (Table 1), CD44s and CD44v6-10 were detected in all normal and tumour tissues (f = 1.000), and CD44v8-10 was detected in 71 out of 74 normal tissues (f = 0.959) and 73 out of 74 tumour tissues (f = 0.986). This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and gastric cancer.
