Since p53 is a tumor-suppressor protein that is critical for cell-cycle arrest, apoptosis, and DNA repair, we further analyzed the cell-cycle distribution of Znf179-overexpressing GBM cells by flow cytometry, and found that Flag-Znf179-overexpressing GBM cells were mostly arrested in the G1/G0 phase, compared to the control groups (Fig. 4D,E).
