Reflecting numerically lower rates of anemia with ixazomib-Rd compared to placebo-Rd (35 vs 53%; grade 3/4 12%/0 vs 26%/2%), red blood cell transfusions were required in 6 (11%) versus 12 (21%) patients and human erythropoietin was received by 2 (4%) and 3 (5%) patients in the ixazomib-Rd and placebo-Rd arms, respectively.
