Despite the fact that the overexpression of CCND2 has been reported in some cancers such as gastric cancer16, 59, 60, our analyses showed a striking downregulation of CCND2 and its association with disease progression and poor prognosis in multiple independent cohorts of prostate cancer, suggesting that CCND2 is a potential tumor suppressor in prostate carcinoma.
