CCND2 and Familial prostate cancer: The eQTL analysis revealed a significant association of the risk allele at rs3217869 with decreased mRNA levels of CCND2. Interestingly, we found that CCND2 is strikingly downregulated in advanced prostate tumors and its downregulation is associated with disease progression and poor prognosis in multiple independent cohorts of prostate cancer, suggesting that CCND2 is a new biomarker to distinguish aggressive disease and a potential metastatic tumor suppressor.
