Therefore, we studied the impacts of P versus X irradiation on human HNSCC cells viability; proliferation; whole transcriptome profile and expression of key genes/proteins implicated in (lymph)angiogenesis/metastasis, inflammation, tumor cell proliferation and anti-tumor immunity; tumorigenic potential, and depicted the molecular mechanisms of post-irradiation VEGF-C regulation, to set the basis for improved therapeutic approaches for HNSCC.
