In rats with intact sensory nerves, administration of ghrelin at increasing doses, 12.5, 25 or 50 μg/kg before the induction of CIP, resulted in a statistically significant decrease in plasma activity of this pancreatic digestive enzyme to approximately 4000, 1600 and 650 IU/L, respectively (Figure 4).
