In the total group of ovarian cancer (OC) patients, plasma levels of MMP-7 (5.60 ng/ml), TIMP-1 (170.79 ng/ml) and tumor markers, HE4 (207.09 pmol/L) or CA125 (139.70 U/ml) were found to be statistically higher compared to the healthy subjects (3.25 ng/ml; 128.88 ng/ml; 54.00 pmol/L; 12.70 U/ml) (p < 0.001, respectively) (Table 2). Here, TIMP1 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
