However, even though RNF157 may bind to CDH1 soon after it becomes phosphorylated at Ser660–663 early on in the cell cycle and maintains high CDH1 binding during the G2/M transition, RNF157 levels appear to decrease gradually following release of melanoma cells from nocodazole-induced G2/M arrest into mitosis and G1, consistent with its degradation occurring during late mitosis and early G1 (Fig. 2C and supplemental Fig. S5).
