The mRNA level of Zfp217 and Pparg2 only had a similar pattern in cell adipogenesis and visceral fat, it may suggest that the role of Zfp217 on white adipogenesis and obesity is closely related to Pparg. What’s more, Pparg has two transcription factor binding sites at the 5′ UTR of Zfp217 sequence predicted using JASPAR datasets (Table S4), it implies that Zfp217 may be the downstream gene of Pparg. The expression of Pparg2 was not always increased in HFD group, suggesting that there was a protective mechanism against diet-induced weight gain. Here, PPARG is linked to obesity disorder.
