In this study, human peripheral blood CD14+CD11b+ monocytes (Fig. 2A, upper panels), freshly fractionated from PBMCs of healthy donors, were stimulated with huLTF in the presence or absence of RA-IgG for 24 h, followed by ELISA quantitation of TNF-α in the culture supernatant. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
