In conclusion, our findings provide evidence that JHDM1D-AS1 is upregulated under nutrient starvation in the tumor microenvironment and accelerates tumor angiogenesis and growth in vivo by modulating expression of genes for angiogenic factors such as HGF and FGF1 and triggering inflammation in the surrounding tumor microenvironment, thereby promoting malignancy of cancer. The gene discussed is HGF; the disease is cancer.
