In this context, a Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) was carried out in a clinical cohort of over 9836 women from the French nationwide SIGNAL/PHARE study.8 The main goal of this study was to use a case–case GWAS design to identify variants associated with HER2-positive status as opposed to other types of breast cancer. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
