MYBL2 overexpression in interleukin 2-dependent murine T cells was shown to be associated with enhanced resistance to drug-induced apoptosis by doxorubicin, ceramide and dexamethasone, due to increased transactivation of the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 by MYBL2.47 These results from Grassilli et al. are in accordance with results from Levenson et al.,114 showing that MYBL2 is upregulated upon genetic suppressor element-induced drug resistance to DNA-interactive agents, such as aphidicolin, hydroxyurea, cytarabine, etoposide, doxorubicin and mafosfamide in fibrosarcoma cells. Here, MYBL2 is linked to fibrosarcoma.
