In recent years, multiple studies have confirmed that genetic factors also play a substantial role in the etiology of AMD [5–7], such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the complement factor H (CFH) [8, 9], age-related maculopathy susceptibility 2 (ARMS2) [10, 11], and high temperature requirement factor A1 (HTRA1)genes [12]. The gene discussed is CFH; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
