In male ICR mice liver insulted with LPS/D-GalN, the decreased protein level of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3), a major component for negative regulation of the IL-6 signaling cascade, was significantly increased with DET treatment which resulted in suppression of STAT3 phosphorylation at tyrosine-705 and decreased the pSTAT3/STAT3 ratio significantly, suggesting that DET can protect against acute liver inflammation through the IL-6/STAT3 pathway [61]. This evidence concerns the gene SOCS3 and inflammatory response.
