Several predictors for an increased risk of VTE have been identified in patients with metastatic cancers, including – among others - tumor type, lymph node metastasis, elevated D-Dimer, elevated levels of soluble p-selectin, elevated BMI, elevated leukocytes and platelet counts, and anemia/use of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) [32–38]. This evidence concerns the gene SELP and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
