This indicated that genes encoding components of the cytoskeleton may be involved in the early responses of Cm to Mi. During the middle (14 DAI) and late (28 DAI) stages of an Mi infection, the DEUs associated with signal transduction, post-translational modification, and transcription were the most abundant, implying that these processes may be important for Cm responses to Mi in these stages (Fig. 4C,D).
