GAPDH and infection: Adhesion of T. marneffei conidia to fibronectin and laminin as well as A549 pneumocytes was inhibited by recombinant GAPDH (rGAPDH) or anti-rGAPDH antibody in a dose-dependent manner, supporting the role of GAPDH in mediating conidial binding to human extracellular matrix proteins and pneumocytes, which may be important for the early establishment phase of infection in the lungs of patients with talaromycosis (penicilliosis) [45].
