To investigate the roles of FH and MQO in the viability and growth of malaria parasites, a luciferase-expressing cassette was introduced into the mqo and fh loci in the genome of P. berghei, and the viability of fh-disrupted (Δfh) and mqo-disrupted (Δmqo) parasites was evaluated by measuring luciferase activities. This evidence concerns the gene FH and malaria.
