In this study, we found that overexpression of miR-503 reduced the protein levels of cyclin D1 and vimentin, but increased the expression of E-cadherin, which can be partially revised by overexpression of CCND1. Moreover, silenced expression of CCND1 could recapitulate the tumor suppressive effect of miR-503 mimic on ESCC, whereas overexpression of CCND1 could partially reverse the tumor suppressive effect of miR-503 mimic on ESCC cells. This evidence concerns the gene VIM and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
