CXCR2 is widely expressed on normal and tumour cells, and although we did not investigate the involved downstream signalling pathways, there are a number of reports in the literature demonstrating that the engagement of this receptor promotes cell survival and regulates anti‐apoptotic genes 22, 24, including suppression of TNF‐α‐induced apoptosis and ROS production 25, 26, 27. The gene discussed is CXCR2; the disease is neoplasm.
