A lectin microarray approach using a number of immobilized T/Tn-specific lectins including jacalin, ABL (Agaricus bisporus), BPL (Bauhinia purpurea), GSA (Griffonia simplicifolia), MPA (Maclura pomifera), SBA (soybean), RCA120 (castor bean), VVA (Vicia villosa) and WFL (Wisteria floribunda), was successfully applied to formaline-fixed tumor samples to identify the metastasis-associated changes in glycosylation profiling of breast cancer cells [128,129]. The gene discussed is GNAS; the disease is breast carcinoma.
