While reports in patients suffering from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia describe (analogous to NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity) predominant usage of the perforin/granzyme B pathway in executing cytotoxicity, other reports in C57BL/6 mice ascribe a higher importance to Fas/FasL interaction (55). This evidence concerns the gene FAS and acute myeloid leukemia.
