In line with these observations and the findings from Hegazy et al. [27], our results showed that, under poor control of diabetic plasma glucose, the expression of Fas and FasL was up-regulated in cardiomyocytes, which induced the expression of FADD pathway to increase the cellular apoptosis, representing one of the causes for diabetic cardiomyopathy. The gene discussed is FASLG; the disease is diabetic cardiomyopathy.
