These observations, along with the pivotal role of NF-kB in modulating cytokine production, in shaping tumor microenvironment and in promoting angiogenesis and GBM progression (reviewed in Karin et al. [2002], Dunn et al. [2012], Yeung et al. [2013] and Nogueira et al. [2011]), prompted us to investigate whether high Caspase-8 expression in GBM promotes these functions. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and glioblastoma.
