When comparing the serum levels of cytokine INF-γ for patients with atopic dermatitis having different genotypes, we detected a significant reduction of cytokine INF-γ (more specifically, it was 1,5 times lower in the group of patients having the polymorphic (heterozygous) genotype) and also an increase in the levels of IL-4 and IL-10 (correspondingly, 1,4 and 1,8 times higher; see Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and atopic eczema.
