When comparing patients whose implants survived with those whose implants were removed, we observed no significant difference in the distribution of gender, age, treatment at an intensive care unit, change in microbial strain during therapy, identification of a specific bacteria, bacterial load, CRP at admission to the hospital, maximum CRP measured during the stay, CRP at the time of discharge, metabolic diseases, or extent of soft tissue damage. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Other metabolic disease.
