Autosomal dominant hyper IgE syndrome (AD-HIES; also known as Job’s Syndrome), caused by dominant-negative, loss-of-function mutations in the Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) [9,10,11], is also characterized by S. aureus susceptibility, which exacerbates eczematoid dermatitis and causes pneumonia and recurrent skin abscesses in these patients. Here, STAT3 is linked to Autosomal dominant hyper-IgE syndrome.
