In particular, many important genes involved in the progression of pancreatic cancer have been hypermethylated, such as RARB [32], APC [33], TSLC/IGSF4 [34], SOCS-1 [35], CCND2 [36], RASSF1A [37], WWOX [38], RUNX3 [39], CDH13 [40], HHIP [41], SLC5A8 [42] and P16/CDKN2A [32,43,44]. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
