GHRL and Anorexia: In spite of this evidence from studies using pharmacologic doses of ghrelin, genetic deletion of ghrelin has not been associated with anorexia, or changes in body size or body composition in young animals (Davis et al., 2012; Pfluger et al., 2008; Sun et al., 2003; Tschop et al., 2002; Zigman et al., 2005), and its role during aging has not been well‐characterized.
