GPT and diabetes mellitus: On univariate level, Age (OR = 1.02; 95% CI = 1.00-1.03), higher duration of diabetes(OR = 0.51; 95% CI = 0.35-0.75), coronary artery disease (OR = 0.45; 95% CI = 0.24-0.86), higher SGPT levels(OR = 0.48; 95% CI = 0.24-0.97), higher triglyceride levels (OR = 0.65; 95% CI = 0.40-1.0), use of hypoglycemic agents(Insulin alone: OR = 0.11;95% CI = 0.04-0.30, OHA alone: OR = 0.41; 95% CI = 0.22-0.76, Combine insulin and OHA: OR = 0.08; 95% CI = 0.03-0.20) and presence of complications(OR = 0.60; 95% CI = 0.39-0.90) were found to be significantly associated with optimal glycemic control.
