It was observed that for NRAMP1 3′UTR, in the heterozygous genotype TGTG+/del (OR = 2.997; 95%C.I = 1.019–8.813; P = 0.005) increased PTB risk by 2.99 fold and for VDR Taq-1, in the heterozygous genotype Tt (OR = 0.140; 95%C.I = 0.050–0.386; P < 0.001), the heterozygosity among the controls is most probably protecting them against TB. This evidence concerns the gene SLC11A1 and tuberculosis.
