The serum FGF21 values for the different etiologies of ESRD not differ to a statistically significant extent: diabetic nephropathy, 2849 ± 3048 pg/mL; chronic glomeruronephritis, 2612 ± 2801 pg/mL; hypertensive nephrosclerosis, 1517 ± 977 pg/mL; and other renal disease, 3940 ± 3314 pg/mL (P = 0.415). This evidence concerns the gene FGF21 and kidney disorder.
