CD34 and acute myeloid leukemia: We are further encouraged by our finding that CSL362-mediated specific lysis of the CD34+CD38−CD123+ subset of AML blasts, which in general, more precisely, defines the CD34+ cellular component that contains LSCs.43 This is of importance, as these LSCs are believed to be responsible for disease relapse30, 44 and therefore elimination of these cells is crucial for reducing the chance of disease recurrence.
