This proteoglycan binds to and modulates the effects of several proteins, including heparin-dependent serine protease inhibitors such as antithrombin III (AT3, SerpinC1) and protein C inhibitor (PCI, PAI-3, SerpinA5) [20], both of which we found increased in urinary exosomes of hypertensive patients.
